Laboratory Instrument Services
Every analytical instrument needs some combination of repair, maintenance, and lifecycle support, and most labs end up coordinating all three with separate vendors. ILS brings them under a single team, backed by more than 30 years of experience with every major OEM.
One Partner Across the Full Instrument Lifecycle
Instrument service in most labs runs through several separate vendors: one company sells the equipment, another relocates it when the lab expands or moves, and a third handles ongoing calibration and repair. Each handoff between vendors is where documentation gaps and delays tend to arise, since no single company tracks the instrument’s full history.
ILS has brought Overbrook Group and AIM Analytical into one team, covering repair, maintenance, relocation, and equipment sourcing under a single roof. That means one team holds an instrument’s service history from the day it’s sourced through every subsequent relocation and repair.
Lab Instrument Maintenance
Instrument wear tracks with usage, not the calendar. A system running high sample volumes needs more frequent checks than one running fewer, and a single fixed interval doesn’t account for that difference.
ILS builds each maintenance schedule around actual usage rather than a fixed interval, verifying performance against factory specifications at every visit.
Lab Instrument Repair
A failed instrument doesn’t always fail for the reason it first appears to. Replacing the wrong component can temporarily get a system running again, while the actual cause of the failure remains in place.
ILS identifies the actual point of failure before replacing anything, then verifies the fix against specification. Regional engineers keep nationwide response times within 48 hours.
Flexible Service Plans
A service contract that doesn’t flex with how a lab actually operates ends up either overpaying for coverage it doesn’t need or under-covering the one system it can’t afford to have down. ILS structures three tiers around that difference.
Full Service
For labs that want maintenance and repair handled entirely under one plan, this bundle includes scheduled visits, calibration verification, and emergency repair, with parts and labor included rather than billed separately per incident.
Preventative Maintenance (PM+)
For labs where unplanned downtime is the real cost driver, PM+ centers on scheduled visits based on actual usage, with emergency repair included only as a backstop if something fails between visits.
Billable Support
For labs with lower service volume, or a single aging system that doesn’t justify a standing contract, billable support skips the contract entirely: diagnosis, repair, and parts are billed per visit, with the same engineers and response times as contract customers.
The Rest of the Instrument Lifecycle
Repair and maintenance keep an instrument running day-to-day, but a lab’s relationship with its equipment includes moments neither service touches: sourcing a system, relocating one, training staff to catch problems early, and keeping compliance documentation current.
Instrument refurbishment
Our refurbishment program sources, tests, and validates GC, GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS, and ICP-MS systems before resale, giving labs a lower-cost path to increase capacity or replace equipment without the lead time of buying new.
Instrument relocation
We treat relocation as a qualification event, not just a logistics job, planning and executing the move so the system arrives requalified and ready to run instead of sitting offline as it’s brought back to spec.
Training
We provide technician training focused on maintenance tasks that catch wear early, so routine issues are handled in-house rather than escalating to a service call that could have been avoided.
Qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ)
Our team keeps compliance documentation current, including IQ, OQ, and PQ records under EPA, CLIA, ISO, and A2LA frameworks, so audit readiness doesn’t depend on scrambling before an inspection.
